- Yup. Common problem with the Magnavox version of the 1084, which is what
- you have. The solder joints on the flyback transformer crack and make
- intermittent contact. If you're good with a soldering iron, shouldn't be a
- problem. The flyback needs to be resoldered in place. I've done three
- now, and desoldering the shield on the bottom of the pcb takes twice as
- long as the rest of the repair. But if you remove the old solder and
- resolder each pin, you'll probably never have to do it again.

- If you're not familiar with the innards of monitors, beware of very high
- voltages inside. They'll get ya even when the monitor is unplugged. If
- you're not comfortable poking around in there, better have someone else do
- it.
